Final Notes
Note that the approach I described in this article can be used to broadcast live video to wired and wireless clients in your network. Of course, seeing live TV come to your laptop without any wires is just so much cooler! My only pet peeve with the setup I have described is that you can't change channels on your client machines. With the setup I've described, you have to change the channel on your server and through the TV-Tuner's options in Windows Media Encoder.
Note also that the approach described in this article can enable clients to view live video streams over the Internet, as long as your server and client machines have fast enough Internet connections. If you are trying the broadcast over the Internet, you need to make sure that the router your server is connected to has the HTTP port that you established for streaming open to the outside world. Also, I suggest that you be careful broadcasting cable or satellite TV to your friends over the Internet—it's illegal.
